This ammunition box is fabricated from custom-cut white pine boards. The pins and tails of the container’s dovetail joints are accurately angled, sized, and located. The characteristics of the handles that are observed on Watertown crates are reproduced. Proper historic cut-nails (square nails) are used to fasten the various wood panels and handles to form the box, The container is coated with the proper shade and sheen of olive paint, and the stenciling on this example was traced and sized off of an original.
